Motor neurone disease (MND), often referred to by the name of one of its varieties, ALS, is a degenerative condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. MND occurs when the motor neurones in these organs stop working, causing troubling and eventually fatal symptoms.
While there is no cure for MND, there are treatments that can improve an MND patient's quality of life. It is therefore important to recognize the early signs of MND, so that people can get the treatment they need as soon as possible.
