LGBTQ+ television couples we love -

When it comes to TV romance, it’s only in recent years that the LGBTQ+ community has started to get real representation, with a rapidly growing number of queer couples on TV. There's still a long way to go, but now there are enough gay and lesbian couples (past and present) for fans to pick their favorites.

The heartwarming British Netflix series, 'Heartstopper,' follows Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) in the struggles and joy of first love, while coming out and navigating life at school.

Santana and Brittany -

Cheerleaders Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) started off as minor characters on 'Glee,' but their roles grew, just like their relationship.

Ray and Kevin -

Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugheris) is a proud gay man, and his partner Kevin (Marc Evan Jackson) is his professor husband. One of the best couples on 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' these two were totally boring, but in a funny and heartwarming way.

Waverly and Nicole -

Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and Nicole (Katherine Barrell) from 'Wynonna Earp' did anything for each other!

Alex and Piper -

There have been several lesbian couples on 'Orange Is the New Black,' but the relationship between Alex (Laura Prepon) and Piper (Taylor Schilling) is one for the ages.

Another notable 'Glee' couple was fan-favorite Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss).

Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) were probably the most adorable couple on 'Modern Family.'

One of the best couples in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' were hands down Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Tara (Amber Benson). We still feel robbed that these two didn’t end up together!

Papi (Angel Bismark Curiel) respected Angel (Indya Moore) and constantly lifted her up. This 'Pose' couple were definitely passionate!

Oh, there's gay love in space too! Just look at Hugh (Wilson Cruz) and Paul (Anthony Rapp) from 'Star Trek: Discovery.'

Magnus and Alec -

Fans of 'Shadowhunters' went crazy over Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario). Not only were they cute together, they also made each other better, and they were able to completely open up to each other.

Nomi (Jamie Clayton) and Amanita (Freema Agyeman) were total couple goals on 'Sense8.' Also, a notable mention to the show's other gay couple, Lito (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and Hernando (Alfonso Herrera).

It’s impossible not to fall in love with Patrick (Noah Reid) and David (Dan Levy). They were the cutest couple on 'Schitt's Creek.'
